This is a Chapter Book with Pictures
for ages 8 to 120.

The time is December, 1999.
The place is an ordinary American city.
Suddenly, the life of a boy is interrupted by
an unexpected trip through time and space and
into the tumultuous past of his family.
He finds himself in Communist Russia, and
witnesses the harsh life of a quarter of a century ago.

Twenty black ink drawings are included.
They are organized into portfolios, each
following the chapter that it is illustrating
