About the Book

Victoria Taft, born of noble blood, yet left behind by her father to secretly live the life of a peasant.  One night, strains of music coming from the mighty fortress of Lord Robert Stefan coaxes Victoria to leave her hut after the curfew bells.  Too close to the castle gates and too far from home, she is attacked by a soldier from Lord Stefan's army, but the renegade knight, Blake Dehlong, intervenes and rescues her from demise.

A deep need rises in Blake.  Although they live in a time where you could be shunned for something as small as conversing with commoners, the peasant girl captured his heart when he first looked into her emerald eyes, and he wants her for his own.  Victoria does not give in easily to the bold and seductive ways of the handsome knight, fore she knows the renegade knight is notorious for his amorous ways.  At first, she finds him arrogant and intolerable.  He finds her too innocent and wants to experience her in the ways of passion she thought not possible.

For leaving her home after the tolling of the curfew bells, Blake puts Victoria in the castle's keep where he is the guardian, and she is under his constant scrutiny.

When Blake discovers she is betrothed to his arch nemesis, will he keep his angel locked in the keep for himself?  Or for revenge, will he keep her imprisoned because she is the soon bride to be of his worst enemy?
