Willie Clemm, a small town southern undertaker, struggles to make sense of a lonely, broken-hearted past. Constant death and social isolation begin to take their toll on Willie as the people of Hester, South Carolina, grapple with the first two murders the town has seen in over twenty years. Doubting himself and his life’s work, he develops a relationship with Elisabeth Gill. They immediately fall in love. Willie and Elisabeth are pulled into the unsolvable mystery of the murders only to find the killer is closer than either one of them expected. Willie is forced to make a decision that changes his life forever.
About the Author
The author is an educator and licensed funeral director. He lives in Due West, South Carolina with his wife and daughter, where he teaches high school English. Mourning Light is his first published novel. The events or characters in this novel are not real.
