About the Book

As Is a Flower is a collection of poetry written by the author from the years 1964 to 2004. It seeks to capture the most important events in the author’s life during this 40-year period. The book is a personal “thank you” to two beautiful women who have so positively influenced his life: His wife, Joanne Van Winkle, and their mutual friend, Dorothy Eisaman. As Is a Flower is a celebration of life. For those who seek the light within, it offers a glimpse of a way. If you find peace in the night sky, you will find comfort here. He has published a novel about the Canadian explorer, Etienne Brulé, titled Gift of the Oki and a book of photography and poems, Cloudy Blue Adagio.
