About the Book

Lewis Daubbs likes flowers, not murder and mayhem. But the outdoor and garden writer for the Muskogee Daily Independent Surveyor finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation and a murder trial, all while he´s thinking about getting married.

About the Author

David Gerard Jurkiewicz was born Nov. 21, 1952, in St. Joseph, Mo. The son of William Bill and Anne Marie (Zuptich), Jurkiewicz is the fifth of their seven children. As his four sisters and two brothers did, he attended parochial schools. As his brothers did, he worked at his father's shoe repair store. Jurkiewicz didn't complete college until 1990, fourteen years after he married Audrey (McKinnon) and they had three children: Jessica, Caleb and Noah. Jurkiewicz received a master's degree from the University of Tulsa in 1992. In 1995, Jurkiewicz began stringing for the Muskogee Daily Phoenix and Times-Democrat in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Later, the newspaper hired him full time to work the police beat. Jurkiewicz then covered the court and outdoor beats before becoming city editor in January 2000. In his spare time, Jurkiewicz dabbles in his garden, plays around with painting and stained glass, hikes, canoes, bicycles, and looks for something new to do every now and then.
