About the Book

Everyone is acquainted with death, and everyone dislikes thinking about it for it comes to one and all.

NEXT deals with the subject of death in an unusual way.

Written in the language of a young teenager, the subject is handled plainly, factually and almost tenderly.

"Even a child can understand it" is surely true of this remarkable book.

About the Author

Who Is Lee Roy Neal? Lee Roy Neal reads like novel by a well known writer. For details, one can read his book The Mills of the Gods, but briefly, the story of his life reads like a fairy tale. He was born on a Texas prairie January 5, 1913. There was a snow storm and the tent where his mother was alone provided little protection. The first thing his ears heard were the screams of his mother as she gave birth, and the sound of sleet pounding on the tent. His parents died a tragic death at the same time, and young Lee at 14, went to Dallas, Texas, to live with a distant relative. His five siblings were scattered among relatives. He worked his way through the University of North Texas and graduated in 1939. He taught school for a total of almost 50 years. He retired in 1975 and in 1996 went back to the school room as a substitute teacher. He is still active in the Athens, Texas schools.
