About the Author

Nello R. Castellini was born in Bolano, Italy in 1910. In 1927 he emigrated with his family to New York City. He received a degree in chemical engineering from CCNY in 1936, and shortly thereafter began a 30 year career with the U.S. government specializing in radio communication. Throughout his working life and later in retirement his strong curiosity and skepticism led him to do independent research on a variety a subjects ranging from gaming theory to collision prevention devices for aircraft. Several of his projects led to patents. The idea for this book sprang from a casual conversation with a colleague during an automobile tour of Italy in the late 1980’s. Mr. Castellini passed away in 2002.
