We share trauma and despair. Yet, we conquer these demons with strength not ours alone. In the faces of our brother and sisters who sustain us, we experience the divine. Every age needs reminder of immutable divine law. This story is one reminder.

About the Author

Dennis Kearney received undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Notre Dame. He is a former prosecutor in Essex County, New Jersey, assigned to the Special Prosecutions trial squad, where he tried major crimes like murder, extortion, arson and armed robbery. He now manages the Litigation Unit at one of the State’s oldest and largest law firms, and continues to try cases. He is the father of four children.
