About the Author

Roberta Meyer was born in San Francisco, California. In her first career she was a dancer with the New York City and San Francisco Ballet Companies. Upon leaving the stage she taught ballet for the San Francisco Ballet School and then founded Ballet Arts of San Francisco. Switching careers, she developed a program for volunteers to teach children about alcoholism and other addictions. It was called Youth Aware and was the fifty - sixth "Point Of Light", awarded by the first President Bush. She is a published author,* has made two educational films,** and created seminars on effective communication. She has been a member of several Boards of Directors, and was President of the California Council on Alcoholism. She later became a ballroom dancer and teacher. She founded San Francisco Ballroom Dance Theatre in 1996 and performed until her sixty –fifth year, at which point she retired from dancing and began writing again. She is listed in several volumes of Who’s Who, including Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Women. *"The Parent Connection", "Listen to the Heart", **"Understanding Addiction", "Better Relationships Through Effective Communication"
