About the Book
The State of Florida Historical Marker Program was developed to recognize historical resources, persons, and events that shaped the development of the Florida in the area of architecture and archeology. This book was designed to recognize the Historical Markers that can be found along Florida’s Gold Coast, which includes Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. The authors felt it was important to continue to recognize those areas of our history that helped make Florida’s Gold Coast an important part of the State of Florida.
About the Author
Your authors, Larry and Cindee Easton, are residents of Palm Beach County. Larry, a native of the State of Florida, was born and raised in Palm Beach County, and has personally witnessed the tremendous growth of the county over the past 40 years. Cindee, a transplant from the State of Minnesota at the age of five, grew up in Broward County. She is an educator who understands the importance of recognizing the historical significance of the places documented in this publication. We hope you enjoy the history documented in this book, and come to understand the love we both have for this area of the great State of Florida.
