About the Book

"Raised by Wolves," is a memoir. The author's father was a professional anti-communist who testified before Congress, spied on Helen Keller and whose career and family were destroyed by J. Edgar Hoover. The author lost three mothers in a span of ten years, spent two years in an orphanage, ran away at the age of 16, supported himself in college partially through forgery and by selling blood, and served voluntarily in Vietnam. In 1971, he became one of the nation's first Sky Marshals. The memoir ends with a tragic life lesson learned, and - eventually - redemption.

About the Author

In various incarnations M. R. Kerley has been a gas station attendant, tugboat driver, military diver, anti-terrorist agent, magazine writer, advertising copywriter and creative director, and editor. To his inevitable confusion he attended first grade in six different states, and high school at five different schools. Proving that he has a taste for conflict, he served voluntarily in Vietnam, and graduated from U. C. Berkeley. Currently, he lives in Atlanta.
