About the Author

Eugene Davies Richter was borin in Montclair, New Jersy in 1931. He graduated from MIT in 1953 and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1957. He had a fascination with such diverse areas as music, astronomy, history, psychology, philosophy and sialing. He loved epeople and had spent over twenty years talking with, visting and collecting from his cousins the stories, pictures, letters and memories that brought his Richter ancestors to life. The story was almost complete when his health failed him. Thank you Gene for all that you accomplished. Jacqueline (Jacci) Neff Herrick grew up in Ohio during the late 1940's. Married and a mother of four, she earned an English degree and then a Masters in Library Science when she was in her 50's. Jacci worked for the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, Tennessee for twelve years and learned a great deal about genealogy research. Nwo in retirement she has had the time to use her research and library skills in compiling a history of her French ancestors with a great deal of help from her cousins, Eugene Richter and Dexter Bowker.
