About the Author
Marc Jeris, a native of Haiti, is an experienced freelance journalist and author of numerous articles published in newspapers, online publications, and magazines. In 2005, during the height of the AIDS epidemic among Haitian youth, Marc Jeris was retained by the World Health Organization to produce articles on the issues of HIV/TB in Haiti. In 2006, Marc Jeris was commissioned by the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation (RFK) on Human Rights to cover an annual prize that was being bestowed upon Sonia Pierre, a Haitian- Dominican Human Rights activist. His love for arts, particularly music, is highly recognized and this work on Compas Direct, the musical style from Haiti to the World reveals the unique point of view of a very special artist and journalist.
