Most of my poems are from messages that
I interpret from church.
Some of my poems are songs I have written.
Some of my poems are just about how I feel.

About the Author

When I was a young girl, my mother and I would make up rhymes while driving in her car. We would also make up songs with the words we were rhyming with. I put a poem in the book that I wrote when I was in school. It is simply titled Spring. Some of the poems are true feelings about how my life was and is going. The poem Rip In My Life is about the time when I lost my parents to leukemia. It was a real hard time. I had just graduated high school and my mother got very sick. I knew that the Father was ready to take her. I really didn't know how to pray because I was taught to pray scriptural prayers. My mother went to the hospital for surgery. I was at home. My father called and told me to call the church prayer line and to pray myself. I sat on my bed and started talking like as if I was rehearsing what to say to the Lord. I even remember the conversation. I said, if You are who you say You are then give me a little more time with my mother. . After her death, my father told me about that night. He said that my mother had died and just as they were getting ready to toe tag her, she sat up. I thank the Lord because He gave me three months to say goodbye. After her death my father became sick with Wagner's Disease that later turned into leukemia. I got very angry with the Father and I turned my back to Him. I got mad because my parents were too young to die. I couldn’t see why the Father was taking them from me. It took a little time to get back on track. If it wasn't for friends and family, who knows where my life would be. The poem Voices is about my coming back to the Lord. The poem Road Less Traveled is about when I nearly lost my life to viral meningitis. This life is a hard road but as long as we keep our heart and soul on Him, we will over come I guess you can say this book is about over coming. I hope and pray that you will enjoy the book.
