The fiction titled “ THE CANNULA FROM GOLGOTHA ” by R.B. Lawrence

On the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Marius Aura, a physician in the court of Herod Antipas, having been ordered to attend the corpses of the victims of that day’s executions mislaid and lost a surgical device known then and now as a cannula. The instrument had been playfully but surreptiously taken that day by a pair of young children who then brought it home to their father who prized and kept it as a secret family treasure. This novel tells how that ancient device ultimately appeared to play a role in the lives of some living in twentieth century America.

About the Author

An American born octogenarian with little education. Father of six, grandfa-ther and great grandfather of quite a few. Lived a bland and generally uneventful life mostly in the twentieth century, married throughout to one fine human and good woman, Maria. Of course there have been some off color and seamy passages in this essen-tially ordinary life. From late middle life to the present piddled and tweaked in spasms with the totally fictional “THE CANNULA FROM GOLGOTHA ”. There have been sev-eral other exertions of ego-- aborted through circumstance --perhaps fortunately-- none of which were literary.
