About the Book
AMERICA GONNIF ended with Al and Marian leaving New York and settling in Southern California after the war. Before the conclusion of that book are these words, "The experiences that followed will be written about, if written at all, at another time, depending on the outcome and reaction to this book." Since then, many who have read it, asked for a sequel.
Though some wanted to know what happened to the other characters in the story, most asked how Al evolved from a carpenter to a lawyer. The transition does sound strange and it’s a long story -- well worth reading. Now, we and history accompany him on that journey.
What follows, is literally three books in one: The first tells of a quest, one that was inspired by a chance encounter during a vacation in Palm Springs. The second depicts the circumstances leading to the attainment of a goal never anticipated; and the third -- well, you’ll have to read it.
Actually, this is a story about Al and Marian and myriad historical events. They met the same night Pearl Harbor was bombed -- and what is more historic than that? . . . And when Al teases, "It was the night the war began" -- pause -- "and it hasn’t stopped since," she hates it . . . But they’re still together. . . . AND THIS IS THEIR STORY
