This is a story about Kangaroo Kate’s premature birth and subsequent development of asthma. It describes her diffi culties with maintaining healthy lungs and the medicines she takes to get well and stay well. The book illustrates her growth with asthma and how she overcomes her illness to be healthy and active. The story provides a pleasant and informative look at a common illness!

About the Author

Mary B. Hammock is a graduate of Emory University and a practicing Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. After working for many years, she opened her own pediatric practice in Marietta, Georgia. Ms. Mary loves her career, watching her patients grow and making a difference in families’ lives. She lives in Kennesaw with her loving husband and four young children. Her favorite time is in the evening when all the children cuddle in the bed with her to read bedtime stories – sometimes it is one book, sometimes it is four.
