About the Book
Cara Hall's novella, Scars, follows the main character, Blaire through an intensely personal crisis as she searches for own identity somewhere within the relationships, family, and pain that make up the structures of her existence. Haunted by the past, but propelled toward the future, Blaire must find a way to come to terms with the issues of her life and time.
Erin Baggett's short story collection explores a variety of characters and settings, from middle-age women playing Bingo to young people involved in the burgeoning coffee house phenomena. The stories examine the characters as they attempt to escape traps of their own construction in order to confront themselves and their society.
The stories and novella included here follow characters as they search for something within the constructs and expectations of our world. However, in the end the characters may only be left with scars, or a winning bingo card.
