About the Book
Straight Up is a compilation of twenty-one short stories and a novella, written over two years beginning in April, 2000. Mr.Dunk's stories run the gamut of emotions, starting with the nostalgic bittersweet comedy of The Séance, and ending with his surreal horror novella, Unmade. Any attempt to categorize this author's unique brand of writing is difficult, but can best be corralled within the NEW BEAT genre of American fiction, a rebellion against the entrenched purveyors of political correctness.
About the Author
Paul Dunk is a Chicago freelance writer who has written over 100 short stories, three novellas, two novels, five golden rings, and an urgent note about toilet paper, vodka, and a gallon of milk. He has also co-authored two textbooks for college level hospitality programs published with Thompson Learning and Prentice Hall.
