About the Author
Bill was born during the first year of the Nazi occupation in Holland. In 1951 when Bill was 10 years old he landed with his family on the famous Pier 21 in Halifax. Hopes and dreams were of little value. The life changes and demands of immigrant life were difficult for Bill. Soon in despair, he would become a high school drop-out, with little hope for the future. The hopes and dreams nearly perished during those dark days. And yet…? This is not how the story ends. In reading Bill’s story you will learn not only to dream big dreams but to follow those dreams and to never give up.
