About the Book
History is often associated with dates and catastrophic or dramatic events. Not so with “Memories of White Pond.” This book is a collection of anecdotal stories from real people. This collection of stories spans four generations of people whose lives were touched by White Pond. The book represents a slice of New England Americana. Reflections on world events, economic fluctuations, and family life are depicted in the chapters. Each contributing individual’s memory and interpretation often colored the stories shared, adding more diversity to the publication. I hope you will enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
About the Author
Judy Bryan Fracher was born, raised, and still lives in Portsmouth, NH, although she now divides her time between her hometown and White Pond. She is married to her childhood sweetheart Mike. The couple has two children and one grandson. Judy’s activities fluctuate between frenzied things like swimming, hiking, and riding her new Goldwing, to the near comatose variety such as enjoying gorgeous sunsets and watching dragonflies hatch. This is Judy’s second venture into the literary world. Her first book was about hiking in the White Mountains entitled: “Hey Lady, How Did You Get Way Up Here?”
