Summary:
Clara's mother sends her to spend summers at the farm of her grandparents, outside of the city limits of Chicago.
Her mother works nights in a restaurant and worries that their housing project is a dangerous place for a young girl alone.
These are carefree days, until a series of events causes her to lose her friends at the farm.
