About the Book
The show business I wrote about, from 1937 to 1978, no longer exists. The advent of television quashed it. As television grew and improved, our business died. It happened so slowly that we weren’t really aware of it. Henry and I were performers for more than 40 years, and the world was quite literally our stage. Writing this book has given me the opportunity to reflect on the interesting life we have had. I was too busy working to appreciate the people we were meeting and the exciting places we were seeing all those years on the road.
About the Author
Lucille Rich appears as a first time writer in “No Hells or Damns Allowed”. Her memoirs give the reader an intimate look into the world of show business. The author’s anecdotal stories make fascinating reading from vaudeville to television. Lucille performed with her husband, Henry, and was later joined by their son, Jim, as a solo act and supported such greats as Sonny and Cher, Bob Hope, and Sammy Davis Jr., to name a few. “No Hells or Damns Allowed” takes you behind the curtain seldom seen by the public!
