Born in Melbourne, Australia in 1922. Father Australian Rhodes Scholar, Mother member of the Abbey Theatre, Ireland. Graduated from St. Catherines School, Richmond, Virginia, married Canadian Doctor and moved to California. After the war divorced, went back and finished college. Taught English in Philadelphia, married teacher from Hill School, lived in England three years, son born on National Healt there, now has PhD from Chicago, anthropolist and author. Other son history teacher. Now lecture n books and authors in Connecticut. Four grandsons.
