About the Book

Red Bovine is a country-singing bull who lives in Gnatsville, Tennessee, the home of the Grand Ole Oaktree, the place where all the greats of country music perform. Red has a dream of performing there one day with his band, which includes the Cowbelles and Rex Critter. Red’s dream is fulfilled when Sheba McIntosh, a beautiful and popular country-singing red fox, comes to the Oaktree one Fourth of July, and wants Red to appear with her. However, when Knobby Dobbin, an ornery old nag, finds out about this, he tries everything he can to mess things up for Red. You see, Knobby is very envious of Red because he wants to be a county singer, too, but he has a terrible voice that screeches like fingernails across a blackboard.
