About the Book
Lethal Twins is a story of law-and-order versus criminal minds in the 1950s and early 1960s. Twins Tom and Fred Mueller grew up in a middle-class neighborhood in Toledo, Ohio. They had vastly different interests and drives. Tom was a Marine in the Korean War and afterward was recruited as a federal agent helping to combat the growing drug-smuggling problem. He became attracted to a fellow agent in Washington, Sheila Bond. Fred chose an equally dangerous but extremely lucrative career in Manhattan, where he became romantically entangled with Lila Colozzi, niece of a well-connected mobster.
About the Author
Thomas L. Eckert is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He is a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended Ohio State University. After serving as a Marine and being awarded two purple hearts in the Korean War, Tom was a Toledo policeman, later operator of a supper club in Michigan, and leader of his own big band. Tom wrote Lethal Twins over a five-year period, beginning with handwritten notebooks before moving up to a manual typewriter, then an electric model, and finally a computer. He is now retired and lives in East Toledo.
