About the Book
“Stories for My Family- Memoirs, Musings and Mutterings of a Modern Medicine Man” consists of 29 stories about many subjects running the gamut of life in the 20th century. Although the Table of Contents has a specific name for each story, the reader must keep in mind the sub-title for most, if not all, of them contain memoirs or musings or even mutterings of the writer. These stories are meant to be entertaining but much can be learned about a wide range of diverse topics such as high blood pressure, psychiatry, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, physicians and people (patients).
About the Author
Warren Heller entered into Health Care as a Registered Professional Nurse. After serving our country in the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps for 4 ½ years during World War II, participating in the Battles of the Coral Sea and Midway, he received his M.D. Degree from the Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. His marriage to Helen Amelia Fleming produced 5 children. A private medical practice consisted of about 18,000 patients and the delivery of about 2000 babies. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has had a lifetime of interesting experiences.
