About the Book

In September of 1981 the nude body of a young woman was found dead near an overpass in Los Angeles. Ten years earlier Jade Dell’montea ran away from a small Alabama town, and disappeared in Hollywood. The Keeper’s is a novel of suspense, and the struggles of Jade when she came face to face with a society that trapped her in a life of prostitution and drugs. It’s the story of Inspector Carlos Cortez and FBI Agent Lori Schendel’s search for a brutal serial killer in southern California. It’s the story of Jade’s brother’s Covert and Cody’s quest to find her, and of Patty Joy who found love with Cody only to realize she was alone. It’s a story of passion, lust, and greed, and the lives impacted by the disappearance of Jade and other young women of the seventies and eighties. A story of fantasy… or is it reality?

About the Author

Born in New Brockton Alabama James C. Wooten the son of a forth generation farmer had two desires that dominated his youth, to write a novel, and travel the world. When he turned seventeen he left high school, and became a member of the United States Navy. See the world he did, not only the beauty of the numerous countries he visited, but also the cruelties interlocked within some of the countries customs. The impact of those cruelties made him realize how delicate and momentary life really is. At the completion of his Naval service Wooten became a technical writer, and during this period his desire, to write fiction resurfaced. He kept this desire camouflaged from others for several years, but while learning to use a computer he started to write a short story, to eliminate the monotony. The Keeper’s is the result of that effort.
