About the Book
Go behind the strong facade of a brand new female paramedic starting out in South Central Los Angeles, a town where bullet proof vests are standard issue. In a gripping true story, she responds to stabbings, drive by shootings and to a man who is slowly drinking himself to death. She stares death in the face for the first time and the veil is slowly lifted off her eyes. She finds herself in the thick of it one night when an angry crowd of leather-clad bikers yells at her to save their friend. And she is shocked when a man who called 911 for difficulty breathing thinks nothing of the gun sitting next to him on his coffee table. Join her in the struggle to gain a foothold in the fast paced world of street medicine.
