About the Author
Sunil Kapoor was born on 30th October 1960 in Delhi and now lives in Dehra Dun, a valley town in North India, where his father had moved months after he was born. He has studied at St Joseph’s Academy, Dehra Dun, Government college for men, Chandigarh, and DAV college, Dehra Dun. He graduated with economics and political science and later, after his law degree, disillusioned with the functioning of lower courts, chose to give up the career. He has been writing since he was a school boy. His first poem, though never published, was written when he was a class VI student. In college the editor of their campus magazine suspected him of copying from a book he had never read. The incident motivated him towards a writing career. He enjoyed sketching and formally trained as a cartoonist from Santhanu’s Chitira Vidyalayam, Madras before enrolling in the creative writing course at the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. It was during his year at IGNOU that he began to organise his writings which until then only stockpiled in cupboards. He writes regularly for newspapers and periodicals but his first passion remains short stories for children. He also writes sentimental and witty prose for greeting cards.
