Darrell Emerson is one of the top high school baseball players in the nation. He gets invited to play with the most elite summer traveling team in Alabama, giving him the chance to showcase his talents on the grandest playing stage of all — the Joe DiMaggio League. But once play begins, Darrell quickly finds out that it’s a whole new ballgame. Players, coaches, and parents alike begin losing their minds. All innocence is lost. About the Author
Jerome Clark is a former newspaper sportswriter in Georgia. His first book was a chronicle of the 2001 baseball season of the Alexander High School Cougars, titled, The Alexander Cougars, 2001 Season of Baseball. In 2003-2004, Jerome wrote his second book. It became part of an ongoing writing project that he now calls his Real Life Wrestling Series. That book’s title: From Passion to Glory…scouting the grrrreatest sport in the world. The next school year Jerome wrote another book about wrestling, titled Sons of Thunder. Take me out, coach. I’m embarrassed to play, is Jerome’s first novel.
