About the Book
One of a Kind is Millie, searching for independence and sexual fulfillment. One of a Kind is Chris Ricotta, determined to run the rackets in San Francisco, having made his bones on the streets of Chicago. One of a Kind is Mac McNeil, marine, tough and straight, to a point. He’ll do anything he thinks is right, with no compromises, no apologies. One of a Kind brings these three characters together, the eternal triangle, as they journey through the depression and the battle on Iwo Jima. The elements of this world explode to life, in this violent, bold epic.
About the Author
One of a Kind is Eldon McKelvie’s first novel. Mr. McKelvie’s life-long obsession with his father’s heroics during the battle for Iwo Jima, the bloodiest, most costly victory in Marine Corp history, finally resulted in this epic novel about love and war, loyalty and sacrifice. Born in Berkeley, California, in 1953, Mr. McKelvie studied Film History and English at Fresno State College. He constantly and consistently hones his craft by writing many short stories and essays on a wide range of subjects.
