About the Book

This is the story of a young man’s struggle to live a normal life while trying to shake off the heavy load of his religious upbringing. Forced to be a man while being a boy, studied theology, ordained when he was but a young man in his twenties, tried to please everyone—visible and invisible—while repressing his own needs and desires until he was tired and gave in completely to everything that he was taught to repress and go against . In the process, pleasure, guilt, deception, and the pursuit of love and raw passion become his portion.

About the Author

Paul is a citizen of the world born in the southern part of the island of Haiti, once the wealthiest colony of the Antilles, the second-oldest independent nation in the western hemisphere. Of course, all that is history—history that he had to read about growing up but had not been fortunate enough to experience, for it had all long vanished in the heavy fog of poverty and political instability. He is a theologian, ex-clergyman, linguist, and father of three. After traveling and living in several countries in the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe, he now resides in the state of Illinois.
