About the Book
When Vincent Tortorelli and Esterina DeRosa were married in the Bronx in 1930 after a one-week courtship, they merged two immigrant families from southern Italy and Sicily. In Forever Family, their daughter Victoria tells the story of the families’ Italian heritage and arrival in America and the new family Vincent and Esterina started during the Great Depression. It is also a memoir of growing up with two lively brothers, life on the home front during World War II, and a courtship resulting in her own marriage in 1953.
