About the Author

Martha (Beth) Mertz Rasmussen was born in Danville, Illinois. She attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. She has had careers as a school teacher, restaurant owner, real estate manager and mother. She is the mother of four children and grandmother to ten. She has lived in various parts of America including Utah, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, and Texas. She began looking for family roots and shoots about 1995 with the help of her daughters. Tracing the Mertz family has been an enjoyable hobby.
