About the Book

Long ago in Connecticut, a mysterious man in a patched leather suit roamed the countryside. Living in local caves for many years with only a handmade pipe and a French prayer book, the man came to be known as the Leatherman. The Leatherman never spoke a word to the many people who faithfully watched his travels year after year. After his death in a terrible blizzard of 1889, no one expected he would return many years later and haunt two unsuspecting stepsisters.

Dominique and Jessica never thought their trip could be spoiled by a rampaging ghost dressed in leather. Is the Leatherman a fraud or a truly evil spirit plotting revenge? The two girls must discover the truth about the Leatherman before he generates turmoil in the small town they visit. After witnessing a robbery, the sisters investigate the past and learn of the Leatherman’s background. They find a cave he once inhabited, meet a strange librarian full of secrets and are pursued by the ghost before finally solving this mystery of history.

Lisa Acerbo is a high school teacher and author. She lives in Trumbull, Connecticut with her two daughters who were inspiration for this story.
