About the Book

…the woman felt the distress of her mount. She carefully moved her foot…then her ankle. She could not move her leg. She soothed her fallen horse with a coaxing voice. Above her she heard the rock slide as Ty eased from his mount. She felt watched. A strange presence that was interrupted as her mount tried to get rise forcing a searing pain to shoot through her pinned limb. “Easy” she whispered . She was watched. From a few short yards away an awesome physical power sat. It was “Klandaught”… the name given him by the Blackfeet…Lord of the Forest. Weighing some two hundred pounds this bundle of nerve and muscle rose to feather toes. He made not a sound as he studied the downed and struggling horse…long tail twitching playfully. He made ready, for here was survival before his eyes. He knew the horse felt him but the other being, her blonde mane shining did not. He slid noiselessly forward on the limb and crouched. “Tawny are you okay?” The shout brought the mountain lion to a halt as he looked upwards towards the noise…a shout quickly followed by the appearance of a tall lean man skidding and bounding down the rocky slope. The cat bellied out on the limb….
