About the Book

River Forest is a secret place that’s hidden deep in the woods behind a wall of enormous Redwood trees. Different forest animals live here,including a few ferrets, like Tulip, June and Casey. Even though it’s a small town, it’s still large enough for curious minds to discover something new everyday.

Continuous rain has put a sad face on everyone in River Forest. That is . . . everyone except these three kids. What starts out as a fun sleep-over turns into a cold and wet spooky night with an unexpected ending! Join Tulip and her friends, on their strange new adventure.

About the Author

My name is Kathleen Mary Arispe, but everyone calls me Kat. I was born in Chicago, Illinois 32 years ago, and I’m the youngest of fi ve kids. My mom and I moved to San Antonio, Texas when I was three years old; which I’m thankful for because I doubt I could have survived in the freezing “Windy City”! I now reside in Jourdanton, Texas with my three kids, Isaiah (15 years old), Sienna (5 years old), Amaya (2 years old) and my fi ancé, Richard. First and foremost I must thank God for giving me the ability to do what I love, and for making this a reality for me. I also must give thanks to Elsa Arispe for her fi nancial support. My passion has always been drawing and writing. My mom (Yolanda) has always encouraged me. She showed a genuine interest in my artwork and gave me confi dence. I decided to write a story just for my son; something he could enjoy and maybe learn from. Gradually, I started to realize that maybe this could be a way to express my talent (to write and Illustrate a children’s book). I used ferrets as the main characters instead of the traditional bears and rabbits. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy them as much as I do. Keep an eye out for part two!
