About the Book
In the aftermath of the American Civil War, the defeated South missed an opportunity to become the dominant economic power in the nation. They had the raw material (cotton) and an over abundance of now idle labor. Unfortunately, for the now united nation, racial prejudice would prevent a complete recovery for more than a century. This novel deals with what could have been.
