Walter served in many different offices in SEIU Local 1000, two different stints the at the bargaining table a negotiator for Unit 1, was a District President and was a Regional Director for then parent organization California State Employees Association. Walter is “for socialism but there is no answer. Socialism is just not predatory, and it opposes creating a world of haves and have not’s. However, history tells us tyranny can take over any system. We must fight against dictators, and for the right to disagree”. Walter was member of the Sacramento Democratic County Central Committee for five years. “Unless we can get beyond 5000 followers and get into the hundreds of thousands we will have to work within the Democratic Party. It may be dirty work, but that’s where the Left is going to be. I don’t know why we can’t keep our own identify that way, and still oppose all the things that we ought to oppose.”
