About the Book

“DEFINING MOMENTS” was born because I needed an outlet for my frustrations, my thoughts and my feelings. It actually was more like a journal written in poetry form and then it evolved from there. I came up with the name “DEFINING MOMENTS” because majority of the poems are life based either mines or someone I know or from a movie basically JUST LIFE in itself as it is … no sugar coating just life in its rawest existence. I hope that everyone that comes across “DEFINING MOMENTS” appreciates and love the contents and meaning of the poems as much as I enjoyed writing them.

About the Author

Charmaine Gumbs was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix United States Virgin Islands. Charmaine and her family moved from the Virgin Islands to Rancho Cordova, Ca in 1996; then moved to Orlando, Fl in 1998 after the death of her mother. Charmaine attended and received her associate in Medical Assistance and her diploma for Surgical Technician. Apart from having a love for the medical field she has a passion for writing poetry and books. Defining Moments was inspired and dedicated to her other half Kendel Williams who strong faith and belief encouraged her to continue writing poetry and books who untimely death on January 27, 2008 left a hole in her heart and the lives of their children. Charmaine currently and temporary resides with their children in Orlando, Fl with the intentions on moving back to St. Croix and finish raising their children.
