About the Author

I was born in South Bend, Indiana and raised for the most part in Southern California. I am a single mother of three wonderful children, and grandmother of three granddaughters. “Bloom Where You’re Planted” is my first book, and is a collection of poems that tell the stories of my life and that of others that I’ve met along the way. I think every person that reads my poems will find at least a few of them that will touch your heart and make you feel something close to what I or the person I wrote about at the time felt. Most of these poems were written while I was incarcerated. It’s when I believe God told me “This is what I want you to do.” I hope you laugh and cry as you read, and most of all I hope you “Bloom Where You’re Planted.”
