About the Book
The George E. Waller Story is factual account about a young medical student embarking on the great adventure of his life. He is attending the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After graduating he and his brothers becomes caught up in the countries state of affairs. He, like most, didn’t want this war, but like most young men his age he didn’t want to miss out on the biggest event of his life time. The whole town was abuzz, all the young men wanted to enlist. George enlisted as a private but soon promoted to hospital steward and eventually to assistant surgeon. Now follow him from the lecture halls of medical school to the battlefields of the Civil War.
About the Author
David Cotton was born December 16, 1945 in Raleigh North Carolina. Moved to California at the age of 14 years old with his family. Serviced in the U.S. Army from 1967 – 1969 with the 8th Medical Battalion and the 596th Signal Company in Vietnam. He worked in the medical field for over 40+ years and retired from the Arizona Department of Correction. David was also an amateur Historian and re-enactor since 1982 with re-enactors in central and southern California. David has two great sons and seven wonderful grandchildren. He lives in Phoenix, AZ with his wife of over 40 years.
