In Jako–the Dog that Survived 9/11 Jako was a greyhound dog living a life of misery. When the racetrack closed down Jako was sold to restaurant owners. He was happy until someone told him that dogs were kept there for the dinner table. Then he escaped to New York City. When 9/11 hit the area Jako was surviving on the streets near Ground Zero. He was caught in the attack and buried by falling debris for days. Find out how he survived, and what happened after his rescue.

About the Author

Bally B. Singh was born in Guyana, South American, where he was a school teacher. He earned a degree in environmental health in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies,where he worked seven years as a public health inspector before migrating to the United States of America. In the United States he worked as a customer service representative, nursing assistant, and a cook for a school and nursing home.
