About the Author

Daryl Ross Halencak is an award-winning author of prose poetry, in the 17th Annual Artists Embassy International Dancing Poetry Festival, where he was invited to give a reading of his work in San Francisco, California He is Co-Founder of the Crowell Chamber of Commerce, along with his wife, Jane. Daryl serves on various committees in his religious congregation, his political affiliation as well as civic and service organizations. He is a Life Member of the Texas Czech Genealogical Society and is Co-Founder of the Nor1h Texas Czech Heritage Society. He has been co-host of a Czech radio program promoting the Czech culture in a thirteen county area Daryl has published a non-fiction article in the CZECH DIALOGUE, an English/Czech publication and he has volunteered in editing articles for such publication in Prague, Czech Republic. Daryl serves on the Board of Directors of the Crowell State Bank, as well as being a director on the Crowell Industrial Development Committee. He is a practicing attorney with offices in both Crowell, Texas and in Seymour, Texas. He is owner of Baylor County Abstract Company in Seymour, Texas; and Homestead Title Company, Inc. in Crowell, Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association. Daryl is also the elected Foard County Attorney, currently being the longest elected office holder in Foard County. He has been married for over thirty years to his wife, Jane. His hobbies include gardening, travel, swimming, reading and, of course, writing. He is privileged to be active in the Relay For Life, an organization supporting the American Cancer Society. His other interests include his pets as well as theatre and cinema, especially David Lynch films. His favorite writers are Franz Kafka, Allen Ginsberg, Walt Whitman, Gunter Grass, David Sabine and James Hoggard. Both sides of his families have lived in Foard County for over one hundred years, where he currently resides. Daryl obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Tech University where he graduated with high honors. He obtained his law degree from the University of Houston.
