About the Book

My Purpose For Writing This Book. There have been many books written on this subject. My goal is not to just add to the wealth of information; rather, I want to address the subject from a new perspective, that of someone who has faced the difficult challenge of reconciling her sexual identity with her evangelical faith. I was never satisfied with the stance that I could either embrace my identity as a homosexual or embrace God, but not both. Thus began my quest for Truth, wherever I might be led. Some of you have already decided that the two can never meet. This book is primarily for those of you with at least a glimmer of hope left that the two can truly be integrated. In any case, I hope all of you will read this book thoughtfully and prayerfully. And, whatever the case, I welcome all feedback and/or questions. My email address is kyra.linn@yahoo.com.

About the Author

Let Me Introduce Myself! Hi! My name is Kyra. Welcome to my book! I was born in 1958 as Sharon Linn. Subsequently over the years, I have also borne the names Sharon Obedi and Kyra Gryphon. I recently returned to the surname of my birth, Linn. I currently keep company with my mom and am owned by four cats. We all live together in Northern Indiana, but I do enjoy sunnier climes. (I admit to living in Albuquerque, NM, ’The Land Of Entrapment,’ for seven years.) I have been disabled since January 2006, after an extended illness and two related surgeries. Before that, my love of learning included acquiring skills such as rock climbing and scuba diving. Since then, I have been less physically active, but have not stopped learning. My favorite subject is the Bible. I also like to watch TV, listen to music and listen to audiobooks on my Kindle. (I am an avid reader and scholar.) I do spend some time on my laptop, but that is difficult for me. I am still working to re-define myself in this new stage of my existence, especially to life in a wheelchair. I have long wanted to write a book; I wanted share what I have learned from my perspective of a homosexual Christian. Often these are seen as identities in conflict with one another. I spent over twenty years studying, praying and thinking about the subject.
