Haley's Pretty Pink Potty

About the Book

This story takes place in a beautiful community called Jackson Town which is situated in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica. The story is a combination of both facts and fiction. The story tells about a little girl called Haley who was constantly wetting her bed and her Mom decided to give her some good “Potty Training’. Haley did not enjoy the ‘training period at first, but during its course, she developed a great friendship with her Pretty Pink Potty’ and they were in constant conversation. She carried her potty everywhere she went and shared their friendship with others. This amused some people and annoyed others.

About the Author

My desire to write books for children began in Primary school when I was about 10 years old. My Grade 4 teacher read one story I wrote to the class. The story was about a child who saved a family from a raging fire. My teacher praised me. I felt like a real author. Studying Children’s Literature in college further propelled me to write. I love children and take time to listen to their stories and encouraged then to write these stories. They say the funniest things to inject laughter and pull you out of ‘that’ depressing moment. Haley is my youngest, funniest, most inquisitive, imaginative, outspoken niece. I could not resist writing about her.
