About the Book

What Will I Be Today is a Children's Book for ages 3 to 8 years old. It is about a delightful and energetic 4 year old little girl named Tierry.

Tierry's Granna, a retired educator, bombards her Granddaughter with an abundance of academic learning, art work and dramatic activities. Granna's house is filled with fun and laughter all day.

Many days, Tierry bounds pell-mell through her Granna's door in a costume, no matter what the weather, mimicking her favorite character of the day. She may come barking, singing, growling, roaring, galloping or crawling. She is a happy, carefree and creative child who is dearly loved by everyone she meets.

About the Author

Delores Anderson-Carter’s love for learning, teaching and serving others began with her father who was an accomplished musician who earned 2 college degrees and a certification. Delores’ mother was a stay-at-home MOM who was Valedictorian of her high school class and also an accomplished pianist. Delores was reared in the small city of Terre Haute, Indiana, where, by the age of sixteen, she knew that she wanted to be a teacher of young children because teaching is an important and honorable profession all over the world. It continues to be her belief that no group of people is more important than the children of the world. Her family was full of educators and she wanted to carry on the tradition. Delores’ childhood was typical in a family with 3 protective brothers. Most of my time was spent participating in church activities. She also took part in activities that were not typical for African American girls such as ballet, Girl Scout camping, voice lessons and traveling with her family. It was especially important that she pleased her parents, especially her mother, by earning good grades in school. The author’s university years were filled with studying and working in the offices of a local hospital. Amidst graduation, graduate school, and post graduate studies, Delores married her college sweetheart, became a teacher, a principal, and an education consultant. Her career in education was successful, satisfying, and gratifying. Delores is the proud mother of a daughter and two sons; all of whom have at least two degrees. Her grandchildren bring laughter and joy to her family and is the light of her life.
