About the Author

The author is a veteran of WWII, drafted during his senior year of high school when the country desperately needed military personnel.; and served in the South Pacific, including 82 days on the "Okinawa Picket Line." Dr. Whitney is now a retired naval intelligence officer an college prfessor. He is married with four children and lives in upstate New York. The eight stories in this book are based on the perceived and vicarious experiences of the author. All stories are told as fiction to protect the pivacy of the innocent and prevent any possible lawsuits. The stories reveal intimate and personal feelings and relationships based upon Judaic and Christian morality. They are tastefully presented in an entertaining format devoid of unnecessary vulgarity and foul language.
