About the Book

C. Alexandra Allen was born in Mount Vernon and raised in Queens, New York. She discovered poetry as a form of self-expression in 1988, at the age of fourteen. Since then she has written a series of pieces of her own. Moreover, she has found inspiration in reading the works of writers such as: Langston Hughes, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, and Richard Wright. C. Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College. Currently, she works as a System Analyst in the financial services industry. She is single and makes her home outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
